Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) is a disturbing reminder of just how corrupt our current political system is right now.
The Justice Department inspector general (IG) report proved that the FBI hung former Donald Trump campaign aide Carter Page out to dry — and Schiff played along with that narrative. And according to the Daily Caller, House Intelligence Committee chairman recently revealed that he still has no regrets about what he did to Carter Page.
No apologies here
There is little doubt that Page is going to sue the FBI and the Justice Department for the wrongs committed against him during the Mueller investigation.
Even IG Michael Horowitz called out the FBI for conveniently forgetting the information in his report that suggested Page was a CIA source.
Schiff, however, chose to spin it a different way, stating: “It’s hard to be sympathetic to someone who isn’t honest with you when he comes and testifies under oath.”
He went on: “It’s also hard to be sympathetic when you have someone who has admitted to being an adviser to the Kremlin.”
Schiff is wrong
The really sad thing is here is the fact Schiff is still making Page look like some sort of traitor. Yes, he had contacts with Russians, but he did so as part of his job.
Furthermore, when Russian assets tried to approach him, Page immediately told the CIA about his contacts and about the fact that the Russians were trying to work him as a source.
Page did everything he was supposed to, and Schiff knows this. Schiff questioned Page as though he were a Russian spy knowing full well the CIA had been using Page as a source for information.
Schiff has also refused to admit he was wrong when he wrote a memo calling out Rep. Devin Nunes (D-CA) for making allegations of the abuses by the FBI during the FISA warrant process.
He claimed he said those things not knowing the information we know today, but that is also a lie.
Schiff had access to the same information Nunes had at the time — so either Nunes has possession of a crystal ball, or Schiff is a liar. You decide.
