The Democrats are pretending that they feel bad for the government workers who are going without pay due to the partial shutdown.
Yet, as White House press secretary Sarah Sanders was more than happy to point out, dozens of them were enjoying a mini-vacation in Puerto Rico this past weekend on the dime of lobbyists.
“Democrats in Congress are so alarmed about federal workers not getting paid they’re partying on the beach instead of negotiating a compromise to reopen the government and secure the border,” Sanders tweeted Sunday.

Democrats have acted as though this shutdown is one of the most outrageous things that has ever happened — but they don’t seem too concerned about actually finding a solution.
When the shutdown first began, though, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) was reportedly off in Hawaii for the holidays.
Now, when the Dems should be in Washington negotiating with the President and Republicans to find common ground on a spending bill, some are slathering on the suntan lotion and lining their luggage with goodies from lobbyists trying to buy influence.
Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) was one of the top Dems photographed in Puerto Rico, enjoying the beach.

Sanders Calls Them Out
Sarah Sanders, never one to be shy about sticking up for Trump, was quick to ask why so many of our congressman and senators were in Puerto Rico when they should be in D.C. working towards a resolution.
Let’s not forget, President Donald Trump canceled Christmas with his family to remain in D.C. in the hopes of Democrats coming to the table.
Mind you, this is an issue that has been around since before the Clinton presidency.
In fact, you have probably seen the Bill Clinton immigration speech a hundred times by now, when he makes many of the same points Trump makes today.
Of course, there is also the Schumer speech as well as the Obama speech discussing how important it is to have border security.
Democrats want to make this about race, but that is just their agenda.
This is about stopping unaccompanied children who are often the victims of human trafficking schemes.
This is about stopping potential criminals and terrorists.
The shutdown could be ended today, and the hundreds of thousands of American federal employees affected could get paid — if the Democrats would stop playing their obstruction games and get to work.
