There is some good news for Democrats who are desperately seeking proof of collusion. It has been found.
The bad news for Democrats is that it is Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders who was found guilty of collusion with a foreign government.
The Aussie Connection.
Last week the Federal Election Commission assessed a $14,500 fine to Sen. Sanders presidential campaign, which it paid, after it was found to have improperly accepted help from Australian volunteers, The Washington Post reported.
The Sen. Sanders campaign struck a deal with the Federal Election Commission to pay the fine but not to admit any wrongdoing.
It was discovered that the Australian Labor Party paid for flights and a daily stipend for volunteers from Australia who came to the United States to help the Vermont senator’s campaign.
The law stipulates that only Americans can donate to a federal campaign, and help from a political party from a foreign nation is considered an illegal in-kind donation, WMUR reported.
“During the course of the campaign thousands and thousands of young people from every state and many other countries volunteered. Among them were seven Australian young people who were receiving a modest stipend and airfare from the Australian Labor Party so they could learn about American politics,” Sen. Sanders campaign said in a statement.
“The folks on the campaign managing volunteers did not believe the stipend disqualified them from being volunteers,” it said.
In Defense Of The President.
The Republican Party was quick to attack Sen. Sanders and Democrats in defense of President Donald Trump.
“For over a year, Democrats and most of the media have been obsessing over collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia,” it said on its website.
“Now we have proof that a major candidate in 2016 did get foreign help – and it wasn’t Trump,” it said.
It is a case of good for me but not for thee. A policy Democrats are versed in and use often.
They want to pin collusion on the president as they continue their shady ways.
And the mainstream media has been mum on Sen. Sanders’ guilt which is par for the course.
