Rush Limbaugh said on Thursday’s episode of his radio show that the Democratic National Convention was nothing short of a “disaster.”
According to Fox News, Limbaugh said the convention’s Wednesday lineup had been dismal and “dark” — nothing like the kind of inspiring rally Dems likely had in mind.
“It was dark and dank, uninspiring, nothing uplifting about it whatsoever,” the conservative radio star said, as Fox reported. “It was so bad last night that I was thinking it would be difficult to describe for people who didn’t see it, how bad it was.”
“They’re scared to death”
According to Fox, Limbaugh also opined that he wouldn’t let Thursday’s big headline — that former Donald Trump adviser Steve Bannon had been indicted on fraud and money laundering charges — “distract me like it’s distracting everybody else from the disaster that was the Democrat convention last night.”
Speaking on his radio show, Limbaugh said Wednesday’s line of programming at the Democrats’ convention made clear that they have few plans for America’s future other than taking down President Trump.
“It was obvious that the people on the Democrat side are so poisoned with personal hatred for Donald Trump that they have lost every bit of rationality. They have lost every bit of reason for what it is that they are trying to accomplish,” Limbaugh said, according to a transcript posted on his website.
Limbaugh also said the Democrats’ convention wasn’t as widely covered by the mainstream networks as some expected — and he thinks he knows why.
“They’re scared to death that if they spend the amount of time on the Democrat convention that they actually want to spend, that they will then be obligated to give Trump the same amount of time next week [at the Republican convention], and they don’t want to. They don’t want to give Trump any time next week,” he said, according to the transcript.
“Dystopianism on parade”
Limbaugh alleged that mainstream outlets are “afraid” that Trump will outshine Dems.
“They are really worried that the Republicans are gonna put on a good show, whereas the Democrats have not. The Democrats have been Mad Max and Thunderdome,” the radio host said, according to the transcript.
He went on: “The Democrats have been dystopianism on parade, and so the networks are afraid and the pro-Biden, pro-Democrat media is afraid that the Republicans are [going to] have some live events, meaning drama. They’re [going to] have some live actual reaction, that there will be much less on tape that can be previewed.”
Limbaugh concluded the segment of his broadcast with a short prediction: “Trump is [going to] outperform. They know this. They’re very, very concerned about it, folks.” You heard it here first.
