Rogan calls out CNN’s Don Lemon and Brian Stelter as reasons why media is not trusted

There has been a concerted effort by some on the left, including liberal media figures, to censor and silence and discredit and de-platform comedian podcaster Joe Rogan, ostensibly over the “misinformation” he has spread about the COVID-19 pandemic.

Included in that effort have been CNN stars Brian Stelter and Don Lemon, and Rogan used both of them as examples on his Thursday show while talking about why the mainstream media is so distrusted by so many people, Hot Air reported.

Rogan’s beef with CNN’s Stelter and Lemon, and the network more broadly, stems from how CNN had covered the unvaccinated Rogan’s brief bout with COVID last year and his swift recovery after taking ivermectin and receiving monoclonal antibody treatments, among a slew of other things.

“Nobody” looks to Stelter or Lemon as a “voice of reason”

Speaking with his guest, comedian Dave Smith, Rogan discussed the current “problem” with the news media and its complaints that more Americans seem to trust him over traditional news sources, according to Fox News.

“The answer is not to silence me, the answer is for you to do better. The answer is for you to have better arguments,” Rogan said before launching into a critical spiel on the manner in which CNN and other media outlets had covered his recovery from COVID and mocked him for using “horse dewormer” when, in fact, he had used doctor-prescribed ivermectin in doses appropriate for humans.

“If you’re a business, and your business is the news and you want more people to pay attention, you should be honest,” the podcaster continued, according to The Daily Caller. “And my thoughts for CNN, my advice to them — I don’t hate CNN, I used to go to them every day for the news before they started f–king hating on me.”

“If you want to do better, just f–king change your model. Change the way you do it,” Rogan said. “Stop this editorial perspective with guys like Brian Stelter and Don Lemon that nobody listens to. Nobody is chiming in saying ‘oh yeah, finally, we get the voice of reason.’ Nobody thinks that.”

He went on to say that, should CNN alter its model to deliver “objective news” instead of opinions, he would be the network’s biggest supporter and promoter.

Rogan has reason to call out CNN hosts

Fox News noted that when Rogan had fallen ill with COVID and then quickly recovered, CNN and a plethora of its personalities — but especially Stelter and Lemon — had sharply criticized and mocked him for the alternative treatments he had used and shared publicly with others.

CNN as a whole had disparaged Rogan for spreading “misinformation” about COVID and vaccines, and some of its personalities — again, including Stelter and Lemon — have not so subtly voiced support for the effort to de-platform the podcaster from Spotify.

The Daily Caller noted that Stelter specifically has taken Rogan to task — as if Rogan is a media journalist, which he is not and has never claimed to be — for his statements about the pandemic and has openly questioned why more Americans seem to trust Rogan than the cable news network.
