Republican Study Committee releases video showing Dems promoting ‘defund the police’

Major Republican organizations, such as the Republican Study Committee (RSC), are already gearing up for the 2022 midterm elections, which will likely be one of the most consequential elections in modern American history.

According to Fox News, such organizations are dialing in on particular topics that have captured voters’ attention, such as the “defund the police” movement, which has completely saturated several U.S. cities with surges in crime. In a bombshell video, the RSC hammered Democrats and their mainstream media allies in a mash-up of all the times that the “defund the police” movement was promoted.

Why now?

Last week, Democrats, and some in the media, including Fox News’ Chris Wallace, attempted to spin the situation as if Republicans were truly the party responsible for defunding police departments, given that they didn’t support one of President Joe Biden’s COVID-19 relief bills which contained some funding for special police grants.

In reality, as any intellectually honest person on either side of the political aisle has to admit, progressive Democrats, at all levels, were the true promoters of literally defunding police departments around the country — to the point of literally crippling police department budgets.

Some of those efforts succeeded, and various city councils were inspired to appease their woke, progressive overlords by stripping away much-needed funds for their police departments, which resulted in mass waves of unchecked crime.

The RSC assembled a mash-up video of some of the many occasions in which Democrats called for defunding local police departments, in an effort to remind the American public who is truly behind such an ill-conceived idea.

The headlines don’t lie

Included in the video are a number of tweets, headlines, and other proclamations made by radically progressive actors in the Democratic party, including statements from people such as Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), among others.

Making it even more obvious that the defund movement was a total mistake is the fact that the White House and a number of non-radical Democrats have distanced themselves from the likes of the aforementioned lawmakers, with some of them even blaming the “defund the police” movement for the Democrats’ humiliating defeat in the House in the 2020 election, as Business Insider reported.

In December, House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn (D-SC) hammered his progressive Democratic colleagues for pushing the anti-police movement, saying: “And that’s why I spoke out against it a long time ago. I’ve always said that these headlines can kill a political effort.”

Democrats’ recent efforts to make it appear as if Republicans are responsible for defunding the police was such a blatant misinformation campaign that The Washington Post, an ultra-liberal, Democrat-friendly rag, fact-checked the claim, giving it a devastating “Three Pinocchios” rating.

It’s clear that Democrats are scrambling to flip the script, as it’s almost certain that their promotion of defunding police — which led to unprecedented spikes in violent crime — will only aid Republican candidates in the 2022 midterms, because at the end of the day, party politics aside, American citizens will almost always choose safety for themselves and their children over politics.
