NBC News reached out to the U.S. Secret Service after a gun manufacturer listed on its website a stripped lower receiver for an AR-15-style rifle designed to play on the oft-repeated anti-Biden chant, “Let’s go, Brandon.”
Yes, you read that right: NBC thought it best to ask the Secret Service for comment after Palmetto State Armory, a South Carolina-based gun manufacturer, started listing on its website what NBC described as “a ‘LETSGO-15 Stripped Lower Receiver,’ which is a part meant for an AR-15-style assault rifle.”
Inscribed on the magazine well of the gun part is an image of Joe Biden with his hands raised, along with the markings “LETSGO-15;” “MULTI,” in reference to the caliber it is chambered for — .223 or 5.56 mm; and “BRANDON,” followed by the serial number, as required by federal law.
NBC adds in its report: “The product description on the company’s website says the fire selector on the weapon part features three modes: ‘[email protected]!’ (Safe), ‘JOE!’ (Fire), ‘BIDEN!’ (Full-Auto).”
Fanning the flames
After NBC released its report, it didn’t take long for those on the right to note the absurdity of the situation. After all, it’s quite a stretch to imply that emblazoning “Let’s go, Brandon!” or even “F*** Joe Biden” on the side of a gun part would amount to a legitimate threat against the president of the United States.
Still, NBC’s Ken Dilanian thought the development was worth a whole news story. Writing Monday, he reported: “[Palmetto State Armory] did not respond to NBC News requests for comment. A spokesman for the U.S. Secret Service, which investigates threats against the president, declined to comment.”
The report also highlighted two other companies, both located outside of South Carolina, that are said to be selling AR-15 magazines with “Let’s go, Brandon” stickers.

Dilanian also noted in his report that “[a] stripped lower receiver is the part of the AR-15 rifle that contains the serial number.” Purchases of the part from Palmetto State Armory must be made through a licensed gun dealer.
The bottom line
At the end of the day, just because something may not be in good taste, at least in the eyes of some, that doesn’t make it threatening — and Americans still have First Amendment rights.
The “LETSGO-15” is quite obviously a joke that poses no threat in and of itself to anybody, let alone a president who is thoroughly protected 24/7 by the Secret Service and the U.S. military.
But we can bet those on the left won’t be easing up on the fear-mongering any time soon.
