According to a bombshell report from Breitbart, a member of House Intelligence Commitee Chairman Adam Schiff’s staff met with acting U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bill Taylor in Ukraine over the summer. Now, Taylor is a witness in the impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump.
Taylor is set to appear next week before the House as part of Schiff’s investigation into a July phone call between President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
But he already met with Schiff’s team, according to Breitbart. That the meeting occurred in August, before the whistleblower account went public that started this whole debacle.
This again begs the question: Has Schiff been lying this entire time about his involvement in the origins of the Trump–Ukraine “scandal?”
What happened in August?
According to Breitbart, the trip to Ukraine was organized by the Atlantic Council think tank, which has close ties to Taylor.
Of course, it should come as no surprise that the Atlantic Council is funded by and works with Burisma Holdings — the company that is at the center of the entire Ukraine scandal, and that Hunter Biden sat on the board of.
The trip was attended by 10 congressional delegates including Thomas Eager, a House Intelligence panel staffer who billed the trip as a bipartisan “Ukraine study trip.”
But as Breitbart reports: “A closer look at the itinerary for the August 24 to August 31 trip shows that the delegation’s first meeting upon arrival in Ukraine was with Taylor.”
Now, Trump’s allies are wondering what else Schiff hasn’t been transparent about.
Lock him up!
Indeed, it is entirely possible that over the last month, Adam Schiff has been completely incapable of telling the truth. On Sept. 17, Adam Schiff said of his staff: “We have not spoken directly with the whistleblower. We would like to.”
But Fox News shows there is a lot of evidence to say that wasn’t true. And not only is Schiff a terrible liar, but he also has no scruples about misleading the public.
When the California Democrat read off his own “interpretation” of President Trump’s phone call with the Ukrainian president and passed it off as fact, he should have been immediately removed from the House Intelligence Committee. His conduct has more than justified calls for his removal from one of the nation’s highest bodies. He should be ashamed.
