Report: Biden’s claims about white supremacy, domestic terrorism overblown

According to the Washington Times, FBI insiders say that President Joe Biden’s claims about the threats posed by White supremacy are overblown.

This comes as Biden, last week, held a “United We Stand” event the goal of which was to combat threats that the country supposedly faces from domestic extremism, particularly White supremacy. This has been part of Biden’s agenda since taking office.

“We need to say it clearly and forcefully: White supremacy, all forms of hate fueled by violence have no place in America,” Biden said. “Failure to call it out is complicity.”

Biden, it ought to be noted, didn’t name any particular extremist groups on the left.

The Washington Times has spoken with FBI insiders, and, according to these insiders, Biden and the democrats are exaggerating the threats posed to America by domestic extremism.

The Times reports:

Current and former FBI agents tell The Washington Times that the perceived threat has become overblown under the administration. They say bureau analysts and top officials are pressuring FBI agents to create domestic terrorist cases and tag people as White supremacists to meet internal metrics.

One FBI insider told the times that “we have more people assigned to investigate White supremacists than we can actually find.”

The agent goes on to explain how the FBI is essentially doing everything it can to pad domestic terrorism stats.

“We are sort of the lapdogs as the actual agents doing these sorts of investigations, trying to find a crime to fit otherwise First Amendment-protected activities,” the agent said.

The FBI responds

The Times goes on to report a response that it has received from the FBI, denying that it is targeting groups with particular political beliefs.

“The FBI aggressively investigates threats posed by domestic violent extremists,” the FBI said. “We do not investigate ideology, and we do not investigate particular cases based on the political views of the individuals involved. The FBI will continue to pursue threats or acts of violence, regardless of the underlying motivation or sociopolitical goal.”

It’s not the most convincing statement given the way Biden, the democrats, the Department of Justice (DOJ), the FBI, and others have targeted former President Donald Trump and his followers in recent years.
