There may be no more biased journalist in the news industry right now than MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow.
Maddow’s show is an endless string of attacks against Trump, but recent ratings reveal this is NOT what viewers want to hear.
Overall, liberal networks are getting hit hard in terms of viewership. While cable news viewing numbers are down across the board, few individual hosts have been hit as hard as Maddow.
The 25-54 demographic is more or less the Holy Grail of viewership.
This is the demographic advertisers want to see if they are going to spend big bucks in advertising with any network or specific show.
In May, Maddow’s show only averaged 410,000 viewers in that demographic this month.
Overall, the story is not much better for Maddow. Her key competitors are Fox News stars Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity, both of whom she trailed in viewership in May.
Pushing a Bogus Narrative
For the better part of two years, Maddow has been hammering away at the collusion angle against Trump. She more or less put all of her eggs into that one basket.
When the Mueller report came out and exonerated Trump from collusion charges, her viewers were naturally disappointed. The Monday after the Mueller report was released, her viewer numbers were down by a massive 500,000.
Maddow’s reporting has obviously been deemed untrustworthy by viewers.
To make matters even more difficult, The New York Times recently canceled an appearance by one of its journalists on her show, tagging her as too partisan.
The clock is clearly ticking for Maddow because if she continues down this path, she will more than likely be taken off the air altogether.
