Reports indicate federal prosecutors have ‘sufficient evidence’ for criminal charges against Hunter Biden

Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, has been under federal investigation for at least the past few years in regard to his dubious foreign business dealings and other questionable behavior.

It has now been reported that federal prosecutors have gathered enough evidence to actually charge the president’s son with multiple federal crimes, according to the Daily Wire.

Those charges are reportedly related to certain tax crimes as well as making a false statement on a federal form to purchase a firearm.

Potential charges on tax and gun law violations

The Washington Post was the first to report that, according to anonymous sources described as “familiar with the matter,” it was determined months ago that “sufficient evidence” had been collected by federal investigators and forwarded to federal prosecutors in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for Delaware.

With regard to the alleged tax crimes, it is said that Biden failed to properly report the income he received from various domestic and foreign business deals he has been involved in over the years.

As for the alleged gun crime, it is believed that Biden, who admittedly has a problem with crack cocaine, deliberately lied on the federal form for a gun purchase in 2018 when he answered “No” to the question that asked if he was “an unlawful user of, or addicted to, marijuana or any depressant, stimulant, narcotic drug, or any other controlled substance?”

Biden’s attorney lashes out at leak

“It is a federal felony for a federal agent to leak information about a Grand Jury investigation such as this one,” Hunter Biden’s attorney, Chris Clark, said in a statement to the Post. “Any agent you cite as a source in your article apparently has committed such a felony. We expect the Department of Justice will diligently investigate and prosecute such bad actors.”

“As is proper and legally required, we believe the prosecutors in this case are diligently and thoroughly weighing not just evidence provided by agents, but also all the other witnesses in this case, including witnesses for the defense,” he continued. “That is the job of the prosecutors. They should not be pressured, rushed, or criticized for doing their job.”

As for potentially impending criminal charges, Clark insisted he hadn’t yet been contacted by federal agents, and added, “Therefore, a rendition of the case from such an ‘agent’ is inherently biased, one-sided, and inaccurate. It is regrettable that law enforcement agents appear to be violating the law to prejudice a case against a person who is a target simply because of his family name.”

Initial report confirmed

CBS News reported that it had independently confirmed from its own sources the accuracy of the Post’s report about federal prosecutors having enough evidence to move forward with criminal charges against Hunter Biden on the tax and gun issues.

The outlet also noted with regard to why such information has apparently been leaked now that, according to unnamed sources in Biden’s camp, it is believed that there is mounting frustration among some within the FBI about how long it has taken prosecutors to decide whether or not to bring charges, with this leak to the media being an effort to force them into action.

Any move, either way, will undoubtedly be viewed as political, though, as Democrats and Biden supporters will say that Republican pressure campaigns compelled the Trump-appointed U.S. Attorney overseeing the case to go after the president’s son if charges are filed, while Republicans and Biden opponents will say the Justice Department is protecting and covering up the likely criminal actions of Hunter Biden if charges are not filed.
