Last week, President Donald Trump suffered the tragic loss of his brother, Robert Trump, whom he called his “best friend.”
On Friday, President Trump said his final goodbye, after hosting a private funeral for Robert Trump at the White House.
It doesn’t make it easier
President Trump’s brother had been having health problems for quite some time.
According to reports, Robert Trump had a long hospital stay in the spring. He was back in the hospital in the days leading up to his death, and the prognosis was not very good.
Last Friday, President Trump went to visit his brother, presumably to say his goodbyes.
After the visit, President Trump was clearly somber, knowing he had probably seen his brother alive for the last time.
When word of Robert’s passing spread, Trump stated, “This was not a great weekend. It’s very hard. You knew it was going to happen, but still, when it happens, it’s a very tough thing.”
Around mid-week, Trump announced that due to the current pandemic, the funeral for Robert would probably be held at the White House. “That would be, I think, a great honor to him. I think he’d be greatly honored. He was so proud of what we were doing and what we are doing for our country. So I think it would be appropriate,” Trump told reporters on Monday.
Shockingly, nobody on the left objected.
On Friday, the president honored his brother and sent him on his way from the White House. “Robert, I Love You. Rest In Peace!” he tweeted.
