President Joe Biden has undoubtedly been shielded by many in the mainstream media over his handling of the immigration crisis at the southern U.S. border.
But according to Breitbart, a new poll revealed that the American public is still well aware of the ongoing crisis, with a majority of respondents indicating that they do not approve of Biden’s handling of the out-of-control immigration issue that seems to worsen each month.
The numbers are in
The results of the Washington Post/ABC News survey are surprising for many, given that the two outlets are usually Biden-friendly media allies.
Nevertheless, the people have spoken, and according to the results of the survey, which was conducted at the end of June, 51% disapprove of Biden’s handling of “the immigration situation at the U.S.-Mexico border.”
In contrast, only 33% of respondents indicated that they approve of the president’s handling of the immigration situation, the poll said, according to Breitbart.
As Breitbart noted, the latest poll seems to be in line with a Harvard/Harris poll conducted last month, in which a staggering 67% of voters expressed support for former President Donald Trumps “Remain in Mexico” policy, saying that Biden should reinstate the policy to help quell the surge of illegal immigrants crossing the border.
In other words, it’s becoming clearer by the day that a majority of American citizens are growing increasingly concerned with the immigration crisis at the nation’s southern border, especially as the number of illegal border crossers continues to skyrocket on a monthly basis.
“Amazing and disastrous”
Since the Biden administration, including “border czar” Vice President Kamala Harris, seem mostly uninterested in taking measures to mitigate the ongoing surge of illegal migrants crossing into the United States, Republican governors, like Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, are taking matters into their own hands.
“Things have changed so quickly and so dramatically under the Biden administration. It’s been amazing and disastrous,” Abbott recently said of the situation, according to the New York Post.
Abbott recently pledged to take appropriate measures to kickstart the construction of its own border wall with a $250 million state fund. He was recently joined by Trump during a visit to the border, which included discussions with local leadership on how best to protect Texans from the growing threat of the spike in illegal immigration.
According to Fox News, Texans are somewhat split on the idea of Abbott building a border wall at the state’s southern border, with 50% of respondents in a Quinnipiac University survey saying they’re in favor, and 46% not in favor of the project. When observed from a party-line view, 89% of Texas Republicans favor the idea.
It’s clear that tens of millions of Americans are not happy with Biden’s approach to controlling the illegal immigration problem currently plaguing the nation, and if he doesn’t take drastic action in the near future to fix it, the issue is likely to be at the top of the list for Republican candidates in the 2022 midterms.
