Poll: Americans Evenly Divided on Question of FBI Corruption

After years of seeing the Department of Justice and the FBI scheme against, investigate and attack President Donald Trump, Americans are divided nearly equally on whether the organizations are corrupt.

Or not.

That’s the conclusion of new poll from Convention of States Action, which worked with The Trafalgar Group, that was taken Aug. 19-23.

“Despite the daily lies, obfuscations, denials, alternative storylines, and other attempts to throw the public off the scent, voters see what is really going on. They understand politics, not justice, are behind the unfolding saga, and they see that the more we know, the worse this gets for those who enforce so-called justice,” said Mark Meckler, president of Convention of States.

“In their fervor to go after Donald Trump, federal authorities have completely undermined their credibility and trust with a growing segment of Americans.”

The poll showed that overall, 46.6% of respondents say the DOJ and FBI “are to be respected for their pursuit of justice and law and order.”

But 46.2% say they are “political, corrupt, and not to be trusted.”

The polling revealed 73.7% of Democrats trust and respect the agencies, while 19.9% say they are corrupt.

Among Republicans, whose presidential candidate in 2016, and possible candidate in 2024, was targeted, 68.3% say the DOJ and FBI are “too political, corrupt, and not to be trusted.” Only 24.7% said they should be respected.

A plurality of independent voters sided with the Republicans, with 47.9% saying the corruption is too much. Only 43.7% said there should be respect for them.

The FBI and DOJ were integral to Democrat Hillary Clinton’s scheme in 2016 to assemble a conspiracy theory that Trump’s campaign was colluding with Russia. The idea reportedly was to distract voters from Clinton’s own email scandals, where she put national secrets on an unsecure server. It was FBI agents and lawyers who openly boasted during that election that they would not allow Trump to win, and they had a backup plan that would install Clinton in the Oval Office. One agent even admitted to altering evidence to make an allegation look worse for Trump.

It’s all been debunked, after it was revealed that the FBI used fabricated statements about non-existent events to obtain court permission to spy on the Trump campaign.

The “investigations” of President Trump never actually halted, with various Democrat-led agendas at the national and state levels, and not surprisingly, 48.6% of American voters believe “the Justice Department’s [current] investigation into former President Trump is only intended to prevent him from running for office in 2024.”

That’s more than those who don’t believe that.

That category includes 7i1.5% of the Republicans who responded, as well as 50% of independent voters.

Even 21.4% of Democrat voters believe that.

Significantly, the poll revealed more American voters “believe the FBI and Department of Justice are not telling the truth about their reasons for conducting the raid on President Donald Trump’s home” than those who believe they are getting the truth.

That includes 72.8% of Republicans, 49.7% of independent voters and even one-fifth of Democrat voters.
