Tucker Carlson says the ‘actual enemy’ isn’t rioters – it’s ‘the person who’s funding’ them

After a year full of violence in America’s streets, Fox News host Tucker Carlson just dropped a bomb on his supporters.

According to The Daily Wire, Carlson said Tuesday that conservatives shouldn’t think of their enemies as “some crazed ideologue wearing black, spray painting statues.” Instead, he charged, “your actual enemy is the person who’s funding him.”

“Your actual enemy”

Carlson’s comments came at a speech this week at Turning Point USA’s Student Action Summit.

“Your enemy, as horrible as they are, is not some crazed ideologue wearing black, spray painting statues,” Carlson said at the event, as The Daily Wire reported. “That person is loathsome and should be in jail, trust me,” he quipped.

“But your actual enemy is the person who’s funding him,” Carlson added, “and [who is] making that kind of behavior possible and is doing it for a very specific reason, to tear down the past, to destroy the past.”

“What came before you”

Carlson went on to explain why tearing down the past is a bad thing: “If you have no idea what came before you, you have no idea what normal is,” he said, according to The Daily Wire.

“You cannot understand the consequences of what’s happening now if you can’t look to the past and understand the consequences of the same behavior in another time,” the Fox host added.

Without this context, Carlson told attendees on Tuesday, the country would be “very easily manipulated.”

“Those are your enemies”

But the importance of reflection wasn’t the only bit of wisdom Carlson offered at Tuesday’s summit; the Fox host also told what The Daily Wire described as an “enthusiastic crowd” that “small is almost always better than big.”

“The circle of people in your life who care enough about you to help you when things go wrong is really small,” he said, as The Daily Wire reported. “That’s the truth.”

Carlson said real friends are those “who care enough about you to help you when things go wrong,” contrasted with “friends” from what he called “the fake digital world,” as the Daily Wire noted. To Carlson, “anyone who tells you that your real loyalty has got to be to some larger group of people, some political group or some group of people who look like you, give them the middle finger — those are your enemies.”

With sound advice like this, it’s no wonder the host of Tucker Carlson Tonight continues to set records with the highest-rated cable news program in history.
