House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has proven time and again she will only answer the questions she wants to.
When a journalist would not let her off the hook over her recent spat with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), she exploded at the reporter: “If you want to waste your question, you can waste your question.”
Reining in the Freshmen
The freshman class of representatives has given Pelosi just about all she can handle. Ocasio-Cortez has managed to get virtually every minority freshman in her fold to revolt against the establishment.
The most recent spat had several rounds of back forth, culminating with AOC making racially charged accusations against the House Speaker.
Needless to say, such accusations did not sit well with other House Democrats. For all her faults, Nancy Pelosi can hardly be accused of being a racist.
We cannot make such a declaration for Democrats like Joe Biden, who has a long history of questionable decisions and regularly buddied up with known racists in the party.
Shooting Themselves In The Foot
Pelosi knows a public feud is not doing the party any good right now. They are supposed to putting up a united front against a president they are portraying as a racist.
When AOC makes accusations like that against Pelosi, all she does is cheapen the narrative the party is trying to use against Trump.
AOC’s crusade against Pelosi has made it painfully clear what it is that Democrats do when their narrative is in jeopardy. When in doubt, cry about racism.
There were even several members of the Democrat party accusing AOC of doing just that.
If AOC and Pelosi are not able to work out their differences, this will impact the 2020 elections whether they want to admit it or not.
AOC, if she plans on having any career at all in that party, better learn how to zip it or she will find herself under the same types of attacks she is launching against several incumbent Democrats.
