CNN host calls on Pelosi to admit she ‘messed up’ with salon visit

CNN’s Don Lemon betrayed his leftist roots on Wednesday when he called out House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) for her ill-received visit to a San Francisco hair salon.

According to the Daily Wire, Lemon said Wednesday night that Pelosi should admit that she “messed up” when she fell for what she called “a set-up” by going to San Francisco’s eSalon despite a local order barring indoor hair treatments amid the coronavirus pandemic.

It’s not often that we hear the mainstream media dropping the hammer on Democrats, so conservatives are surely relishing this moment. It all started when Fox News released footage of Pelosi at the salon — and she wasn’t wearing a mask.

“Falling for a set-up”

The speaker of the House has tried to play the victim card, claiming that she thought she was adhering to the guidelines when she got her hair done. According to the Daily Wire, Pelosi vowed to only “take responsibility for trusting the word of the neighborhood salon” and “falling for a set-up.”

But can a member of Congress really claim they didn’t know the rules?

Amazingly, Lemon made this exact point Wednesday night. “This far into the pandemic, the House Speaker should know what is safe and what isn’t,” he said, according to the Daily Wire. “We should all know. It’s our responsibility. Instead of claiming a set-up, it would have been just as easy for the Speaker to say, ‘You know what, I messed up. I should have worn a mask indoors.’”

Take a look:

“This isn’t even political”

Pelosi has extended her attack on the salon to its owner, Erica Kious, who told Fox News following the incident that the speaker getting her hair done was a “slap in the face” considering that her salon had to be closed to the public, the Daily Wire reported separately.

Pelosi responded to Kious’ remarks by accusing her of launching a political attack. But Kious says it’s not about that.

“This isn’t even political,” she told Fox in a subsequent interview, according to the Daily Wire.

Kious went on: “It’s the fact that she actually came in, didn’t have a mask on, and I just thought about my staff and people not being able to work and make money and provide for their families, and if she is in there comfortably without a mask and feeling safe, then why are we shut down? Why am I not able to have clients come in?”
