Pelosi disregards Biden accuser despite heralding Blasey Ford’s ‘great courage’

The silence from the left regarding an increasingly credible sexual assault allegation against Joe Biden has been deafening, particularly in light of the furor that surrounded claims made against then-Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh in 2018.

Nowhere is that blatant disparity more obvious than in the actions of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), who weighed in multiple times against Kavanaugh, but has yet to directly address the claim lodged against Biden, whom she recently endorsed for president, The Daily Caller reported.

Pelosi lauds Kavanaugh accuser

First, a bit of a refresher on the timeline of commentary from Pelosi with regard to Kavanaugh, whom she clearly opposed even before his main accuser, Christine Blasey Ford, came forward with her vague allegations of sexual assault from decades prior.

As the Daily Caller points out, Pelosi tweeted twice against Kavanaugh after he was first nominated in July 2018, first on July 10 and again on July 17, with warnings that Kavanaugh’s confirmation could result in a rollback of abortion rights.

Later, in September, Pelosi tweeted in support of Ford on at least three separate occasions, first on Sept. 18 when she praised Ford’s “great courage” in coming forward with her “grave & credible allegations” against Kavanaugh, according to the Daily Caller.

On Sept. 26, Pelosi tweeted out the hashtag “#BelieveSurvivors” and noted how “proud” she was to stand with other Democrats in support of Ford. That was followed with another tweet a day later that featured a photo of her sitting at home and watching Ford’s “deeply moving” opening statement at the Kavanaugh hearings, again with the #BelieveSurvivors hashtag.

Ignoring Reade, endorsing Biden

Fast-forward a year and a half, and Pelosi remains noticeably silent with regard to Reade’s allegation that Biden groped and penetrated her in a deserted hallway in a Senate office building when she served as an aide to the then-senator from Delaware in 1993.

In fact, Pelosi has not only ignored the allegations from Reade — which are just as credible, if not more so, than those put forward by Ford — she has also issued an endorsement for Biden’s candidacy and has refused to respond to multiple requests for comment on the matter from the Daily Caller, and presumably other independent or right-leaning media outlets as well.

The way that Reade has been disregarded or actively discredited by some on the left, including Pelosi, while at the same time being weaponized by some on the right to be used as a partisan tool in the upcoming election obviously doesn’t sit well with Reade herself, as was revealed in a recent interview she gave to The Daily Caller.

“It’s inexcusable,” she said of the way she is currently being treated. “I’m sorry that I’m politically inconvenient, but my perpetrator was Joe Biden. And people need to deal with it.”

Double standards persist

It has been said by some that if Democrats didn’t have double standards then they wouldn’t have any standards at all, and that has never been more evident than in the highly partisan, wholly disparate reactions on the left to the allegations from Ford and Reade.

Unfortunately, while some media outlets like the Daily Caller and others are attempting to hold Pelosi and others to account for their past comments when compared to the current situation, much of the liberal media has joined with the Democrats and provided cover for their blatant hypocrisy. Hopefully, the American people see right through it all and know what is really going on.
