Rumors surface alleging Pelosi could be removed as House speaker

December 1, 2019 by Jerry McCormick

For months, Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said she would never back impeachment unless it was a bipartisan effort.

She recently reversed course, and it now appears she did so because she was in danger of being removed from her role as the House speaker, Breitbart reports.

Feeling the pressure

The impeachment of a president is no small matter, and it is one that should have some support from the opposing party to pursue.

In the case of Trump’s impeachment, though, not a single Republican member of the House was in favor of moving forward. The only bipartisan vote was the one against impeachment. Nancy Pelosi originally said she would not move forward if that was the case, but she later abruptly changed course.

And reports are now surfacing that she did so to preserve her own role in leadership. According to Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL), Pelosi was facing severe pressure from the new cohort of far-left progressives in the House.

Too conservative

Over the last few weeks, some rather interesting articles have come out about former President Barack Obama. One publication actually went so far as to suggest that Barack Obama is actually a conservative, an absurd claim on its face, but oddly reasonable once one views Obama’s platforms in the context of the new progressive movement within the House.

House Democrats are now starting to say the same thing about Pelosi.

On Pelosi’s recent bowing to the far left in the party, Brooks stated: “She made plenty of public statements last year to that effect. But she is at risk of losing her speakership because Nancy Pelosi, believe it or not, is considered to be too conservative by the majority of the members of the Democratic conference in the House of Representatives.”

Brooks’ comments are proof that “the Squad,” a group of self-proclaimed Democratic Socialists including Reps. Ilhan Omar (MN), Rashida Tlaib (MI), and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY) are not necessarily the aberration many of us believed them to be.

Millennials are clearly more active in politics than most experts believed, and their incessant drive towards the left is rapidly beginning to take over the Democratic Party.

Even more importantly, rather than defend the true ideology of the Democratic Party — and the country for that matter — older politicians like Pelosi are breaking and giving in to the desire to turn the United States into a socialist country.

Why are they doing this? Out of the sheer need to remain in power — the scariest fact of all.
