Senator John McCain appears to be as vindictive in death as he was in life.
According to reports, his one-time running mate Sarah Palin was NOT invited to McCain’s memorial services.
Former Running Mate
We are not supposed to speak ill of the dead, but McCain and his family are making that a very difficult task.
McCain has a long history of not taking the blame for things that went wrong in his career, and Sarah Palin appears to be one such instance.
McCain added Palin to his ticket in the 2008 presidential election.
The American people had been longing for a woman to find her way into the White House and Palin appeared the perfect candidate.
At the time, her star was rising in conservative circles and she was expected to bring a much-needed boost to McCain’s chances of winning the White House.
One Way Street
Palin, it should be noted, has NEVER spoken ill of McCain, but the same cannot be said of McCain on Palin.
After his death, Palin tweeted, “Sen. John McCain was a maverick and a fighter, never afraid to stand for his beliefs. John never took the easy path in life – and through sacrifice and suffering he inspired others to serve something greater than self.”
Very recently, McCain went so far as to say adding Palin to his ticket was a major mistake and may have actually cost him the election.
Forget the fact McCain regularly gushed over Obama and practically endorsed the Democrat nominee himself.
Palin’s backing of Trump could not have sat well with her former running mate, either.
When news of the Palin snub was made public, Palin refused to bite.
The Palin family simply stated they “will always cherish their friendship with the McCain’s and hold those memories dear.”
For all her loyalty, Palin has been repaid as though she were some second-class citizen.
All of this coming from a man who personally planned five days of memorials to celebrate his own life.
