Vice President Kamala Harris has performed rather poorly in her role since taking office, but according to the VP herself, that is just a false perception caused by the negative media coverage she has received.
Needless to say, that excuse didn’t go over particularly well with the co-hosts of Fox News’ “Outnumbered” program, as they ripped her for the complaint and for apparently being unable to “deal with the facts” as presented by the media, the outlet reported.
In fact, one of the co-hosts argued that Harris’ claims of perpetual victimhood in spite of her successful political elevation rendered her “an embodiment of today’s political left.”
Glowing review of VP Harris in 2022
In an op-ed for The Washington Post just prior to Christmas, columnist Jonathan Capehart praised Vice President Harris for her “most excellent year” in 2022 and pointed to “three poles” that held up her “tent” of success over the past 12 months.
The first was a speech Harris delivered in February at the Munich Security Conference to warn about the Russian invasion of Ukraine that the entire world could see coming, followed by her participation in November at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation conference in Thailand where she supposedly had strong words of warning on the sidelines for Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Capehart was most impressed, however, with how an outraged Harris had reacted to the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision that returned the issue of abortion to the individual states, which led to her “barnstorming” the country to warn Americans that their other privacy-related rights may also be at risk.
“There are things that I’ve done as vice president that fully demonstrate the strength of my leadership as vice president that have not received the kind of coverage that I think Dobbs did receive,” Harris told Capehart in an interview. “What you’ve been able to see,” she added with regard to the media, is solely “based on what gets covered.”
“She’s not fit for this job. She’s not doing it well.”
On Friday’s “Outnumbered,” co-host Kennedy said with regard to Harris’ complaint about the Dobbs decision media coverage, “She’s mad that a landmark, once-in-a-generation Supreme Court case got more coverage than the fact that she was such an unlikable boss — a massive number of her staff ran for the exits.”
“Fox & Friends First” co-host Todd Piro replied that while the quote from Harris wasn’t one of her typical “word salads,” it was nonetheless arguably “her worst answer of 2022.”
He asserted that Harris had always previously enjoyed soft and “hands-off” media coverage, but now that “she’s getting some semblance — some minute semblance of coverage — she can’t handle it because it’s critical, because she’s been tasked with all these things, she’s done every single one of them horribly, and she can’t deal with the facts. So what does she do? She takes it out on us in the media for not giving her glowing coverage,” as well as her fleeing staffers.
“She’s not fit for this job. She’s not doing it well. And you don’t have to go too much further than the president himself, who said she’s a work in progress when it comes to this job,” Piro added. “If Joe Biden, a work in progress himself after being in politics for 50 years, says that about you, that’s not a good sign.”
Top accomplishment is “giving more gaffes” than Biden
Contributor Lisa Boothe said of Harris, “The decision to elevate her to VP wasn’t a merit-based decision, right? It was based off of a series of box-checking exercises that Joe Biden said that he wanted and things that he wanted. And that’s why she got the job. Yet she still sees herself as a victim, which is really just an embodiment of today’s political left.”
Medical contributor Dr. Nicole Sapphire joked about the VP’s supposed accomplishments in 2022 and said, “The only thing that she has really done better at this year is giving more gaffes than President Biden did himself.”
