Gladys Knight, the “Empress of Soul,” is recognized worldwide for her singing and acting talents and her business expertise.

Her recorded hits to date from the 1960s through the 1980s and she’s a seven-time Grammy winner.

Over the weekend she was recognized at the Kennedy Center Honors, where she joined U2, George Clooney, Amy Grant, and Tania Leon in being honored.

Joe Biden, of course, felt obligated to make himself the center of attention, and he recalled Knight’s performance in “1919.”

No one knew Knight was THAT old.

“She’s performed on the biggest stages, but a point of personal privilege, I think her performance in 1919 at the 100th anniversary of the Delaware state fair was pretty special.”

Actually, Delaware Today reports the fair celebrated its centennial in 2019, a century after Biden recalled it happening.

On social media were comments like, “Sad.” and “Ladies and Gentlemen the leader of the free world!”

commentary at Twitchy said, “Biden’s so old we could almost believe it.”

Actually, Biden just turned 80.

“Are we picking on Biden over a simple gaffe? You bet we are. It’s a shame we have so very many opportunities to do it.”

Knight actually was born in 1944, making her 78 today.
