During the latest stop on Omarosa Manigault Newman’s Trump-trashing tour for her new book Unhinged, she spoke with professional race-baiter Al Sharpton and did what he does best — sling unfounded accusations of racism and allege some sort of racial conspiracy in the White House.
In her appearance on MSNBC‘s Politics Nation, Manigault Newman called the president “disingenuous” toward the black community and suggested that he was actually attempting to “start a race war” in this country.
The New York Post reported that Manigault Newman referenced Trump’s oft-repeated phrase aimed at black voters during the 2016 campaign — “what do you have to lose?” — and stated: “We have a lot to lose and, in fact, we’re losing right now because Donald Trump is disingenuous about his engagement and his outreach.”
“And, in fact, I think he wants to start a race war in this country,” she asserted.
That remark came after she dismissed all of Trump’s words and actions during the campaign as nothing more than a con to sway black voters away from Democrats and over to his side.
Earlier in the interview, Manigault Newman had criticized the president as being nothing more than a “performer” in terms of his outreach to black voters, and suggested he preferred photo-op appearances with black leaders over actual in-depth conversations to address real problems, according to The Hill.
“Every single time he had some type of issue with the community, I was there,” she said of her advocacy on behalf of Trump over the years, particularly during the 2016 campaign and his first year in office.
“The one thing I realized once I was there was he was disingenuous to his commitment to diversity,” she stated.
Manigault Newman and Sharpton also made great hay out of the fact that there are currently no black aides holding senior positions inside the “lily-white inner circle” of the White House.
They even suggested that Manigault Newman’s appointment to a senior role in the administration had been nothing more than a show.
Omarosa Manigault Newman has a history of saying what she thinks people want to hear when they want to hear it to get her way, and has taken so many contradictory appearances over the years — but especially within the past week — that she has little if any credibility left with anyone, save the “Rev.” Al Sharpton.
In truth, it looks an awful lot like Manigault Newman is the “disingenuous performer” as her claim that Trump is trying to spark a “race war” just doesn’t jibe with his policies that have brought historically low levels of unemployment to the black community, a surge in black-owned small businesses, and a breaking of the bonds held by the political party that has ruled — and failed — the black community for decades.
