Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) has just found herself in the center of yet another controversy.
Washington Examiner opinion columnist David M. Swindle is alleging that Omar has fundraised for organizations with links to known radical Islamic groups.
Raising Money for Terrorists?
The most notable of the groups Omar has reportedly helped is the Council on American-Islamic Relations, also known as CAIR.
Several high-ranking members of the group have made their fair share of anti-Semitic comments.
Still, Omar has appeared at numerous functions for this group, often appearing alongside some of its most controversial leaders.
This list would include Imam Siraj Wahhaj, who has regularly advocated violent jihad, adherence to Sharia law, and anti-gay violence.
Omar has also been tied to a group known as Islamic Relief.
Like CAIR, this group has links to the Muslim Brotherhood, but it is also tied to directly funding terrorist activities by several governments.
Omar’s Memorable Mentors
Omar clearly holds many of the individuals associated with these groups in high regard, including Wahhaj and his protégé, Linda Sarsour.
These individuals have significant influence over Omar, which would explain her attitude and recent anti-Semitic comments.
The fact that her associations with these organizations are not getting more attention and scrutiny is rather amazing. It only goes to show that the mainstream media simply ignore negative press when it involves the darlings of the Democratic Party.
The people of this country have a right to know the truth about someone representing them in Washington, but in this case, it appears most are only getting one side of the story.
The more we learn about Omar, the more questions we have about her alliances. It’s time for answers.
