Ocasio-Cortez quits Facebook, calls social media a ‘public health risk’

The queen of social media, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), has said “Good-bye” to Facebook. Ocasio-Cortez said she deleted her personal Facebook page because “social media poses a public health risk to everybody.”

“I personally gave up Facebook, which was kind of a big deal because I started my campaign on Facebook. And Facebook was my primary digital organizing tool for a very long time. I gave up on it,” she said on the Yahoo News’ “Skullduggery” podcast on Sunday.

Deranged Statements

Some of the comments she made during the introduction of her Green New Deal had people turning their heads, but this is just getting out of hand now.

While nobody would argue the fact our children could stand to spend less time on their computers and more time outside playing, AOC is taking things to a whole new level.

Rather than actually admit she is embarrassing herself on social media, she is now trying to create a campaign that characterizes it as a public health emergency.

AOC stated, “There are amplified impacts for young people, particularly children under the age of 3, with screen time.”

“But I think it has a lot of effects on older people.”

“I think it has effects on everybody: Increased isolation, depression, anxiety, addiction, escapism.”

AOC added that she has put “little rules” in place for herself, like taking the weekends off from reading the news and Twitter.

“Every once in a while, you’ll see me hop on Twitter on the weekends, but for the most part, I take consumption of content, when it comes to consumption and reading, I take the weekends off. And so I’m not, like, scrolling through trying to read everything online that journalists are writing on weekends. I try to do that during the workweek,” she said.

Too Extreme

When everyone said the Democrat party needed new blood, nobody envisioned the radicalism of the new far-left Democrats — particularly Ocasio-Cortez and Reps. Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib.

Hopefully, the Americans who voted for all three of these representatives are realizing their mistakes.

With any luck, all three of them will be voted out in 2020 and we will no longer have to deal with their anti-Semitic comments, their bashing of the president, and their fear-mongering statements about the environment and social media.
