Ocasio-Cortez opts for gas guzzling ride over subway after parade appearance

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has apparently quit at trying to save the planet.

After making an appearance at the “St. Pat’s for All” parade, the New York Democrat opted to use a mini-van that gets about 17 miles per gallon rather than take the “green” subway to her next stop.

Green New Deal

Rep. Ocasio-Cortez is the brilliant architect behind the Green New Deal. But while calling for use of electric vehicles and bicycles over gas-consuming cars and trucks, she is doing just the opposite.

In this case, while only a couple of blocks from the subway, she instead chose a Chrysler Town & Country to get to her next stop.

Ocasio-Cortez’s reaction to the controversy over this was even more ridiculous than her Green New Deal.

When the New York Post went after her for her abuse of for-hire rides, Ocasio-Cortez sent them a nasty tweet.

“Living in the world as it is isn’t an argument against working towards a better future,” she said. But actually, it is.

Walk the Walk

If you are going to use legislation like the Green New Deal as your platform, you and every member of your staff should be setting the example to prove this is actually possible.

Instead, AOC and her staff spent almost three times as much on for-hire rides than they did on MetroCards and train tickets during her congressional campaign.

AOC has also criticized people for eating hamburgers. Unfortunately for AOC, she and her chief of staff were spotted having lunch while a nice, juicy burger was on the plate in front of them.

It is really hard to sell Americans on something when you are not actually living by those guidelines yourself.

So far, AOC’s first term has been an absolute disaster by any measuring stick.
