Freshman Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tried to play the cute card during her latest press conference, but it backfired big league.
AOC was blasting Trump, again, and tried to use Trump’s words about the Russia collusion investigation to make her own point. But it got awkward very quickly when the freshman representative tried to be cute and repetitive, but ended up humiliating herself.
“While [President Donald Trump is] talking collusion, collusion, collusion, I think, in [the House Oversight Committee], we should be talking about taxes, taxes, taxes, and his bank account, his bank account, his bank account. His financial statements, statements, statements,” she said.
Not Cute Anymore
The newness of Rep. Ocasio-Cortez is wearing off very quickly.
When she is in over her head, it seems that she tries to lighten things up with a quick joke and a cute smile. But that didn’t work this time.
Matters brought before the House Oversight Committee are very serious and should be discussed in a serious tone. But for some reason, AOC decided saying every word three times would somehow get her point across better.
Even she seemed to realize this was not the right approach, as she got a very uncomfortable look on her face about halfway through her response — but she realized it was too late to stop.
Take a look at her big blunder:

Social Media Pushback
It was only a few minutes after her press conference when social media lashed out at the former bartender.
Some questioned her experience and qualifications to investigate the president’s finances.
There were also more than a few people who wanted to know how politicians who have only been in office a few years and who make under $200,000 per year are all becoming millionaires.
President Donald Trump has filed and paid his taxes every year, and he openly admits he is also audited every year. Meanwhile, the IRS — the actual government agency responsible for this — has yet to hit him with any fines or penalties, but that does not appear to be enough for this upstart congresswoman.
Ironically, while making those allegations, Ocasio-Cortez’s own office is already under investigation for campaign finance violations.
It was fun while it lasted, but it is time for Democrats to realize AOC is going to be a one-hit wonder and start to separate themselves from her radical ideas before they completely destroy the party.
On second thought, leave her out there!
