As the November midterms near, Democrats are not only not giving up on their Jan. 6 witch hunt against former President Donald Trump and his associates, but the hysteria has also apparently saturated the White House.
According to the Washington Examiner, in a bombshell New York Times report on Saturday, it was revealed that someone leaked President Joe Biden’s true feelings about Trump, and long story short, Biden wants his predecessor prosecuted.
The news comes as Democratic leadership continues to pressure Biden’s Justice Department to take action as far as launching prosecutions against Trump and his top associates, who they claim were responsible for the events that transpired on Jan. 6, 2021, at the U.S. Capitol.
With Dems taking a beating in the polls, especially the president and vice president, the Jan. 6 narrative is essentially the only weapon they have left.
The bombshell leak
According to The Times’ report, Biden has made crystal clear that he wants Trump in deep legal trouble for the Jan. 6 riots, even though Trump had nothing to do with the people who chose to breach the Capitol building that day.
“As recently as late last year, Mr. Biden confided to his inner circle that he believed former President Donald J. Trump was a threat to democracy and should be prosecuted, according to two people familiar with his comments,” the report revealed.
It added: “And while the president has never communicated his frustrations directly to Mr. Garland, he has said privately that he wanted Mr. Garland to act less like a ponderous judge and more like a prosecutor who is willing to take decisive action over the events of Jan. 6.”
Even with all the tough talk, it’s still a mystery as to what the former president could possibly be charged for, which is likely why Garland hasn’t gone down that road.
The House committee in charge of “investigating” Jan. 6 now claims it could have evidence that shows Trump orchestrated illegal maneuvers on the day of the riots, which was also the day of the Electoral College vote certification, but even so, the committee can only make a criminal referral.
Dems chomping at the bit
A number of high-profile Democrats have helped to publicly pressure Biden’s DOJ to aggressively go after Trump and his former associates, including Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA).
“We are upholding our responsibility. The Department of Justice must do the same,” Schiff said.
Rep. Elaine Luria (D-VA) added: “Attorney General Garland, do your job so we can do ours.”
