NFL star Rashee Rice wanted by police: Report

 April 1, 2024

Rashee Rice - the National Football League (NFL) player - is currently wanted by police.

This, according to Fox News, has to do with a car crash that took place on Saturday night. The crash has been described as "major."

At the time of this writing, Rice has still not spoken with the police.

The big question, of course, is what Rice had to do with this "major" car accident.

Here's what we know so far:

Local law enforcement has provided details about the incident to a local outlet called The Dallas Morning News.

"At about 6:20 p.m., Dallas police responded to an accident in the 6600 block of North Central Expressway. Officers determined that two people, one in a Chevrolet Corvette and one in a Lamborghini, were speeding in the far left lane near University Boulevard," the outlet reports.

It adds, "The motorists lost control and the Lamborghini hit the center median wall, 'causing a chain reaction collision involving four other vehicles.' The occupants of the Lamborghini and Corvette ran from the scene without providing their information or stopping to see if anyone needed medical help, police said."

The outlet goes on to report that at least part of the incident was captured on camera - on another vehicle's dash cam.

Two of the drivers involved in the car accident were treated at the scene for minor injuries, and two other people were taken to the hospital. But, the identities of these individuals have not been released.

What's Rice's involvement?

It is believed that Rice was one of the drivers of the cars that caused the crash. Specifically, it is believed that he was the driver of the Corvette.

The Dallas Morning News reports, "The police call sheet obtained by The News listed Rice — a former Richland High School and SMU star — as the suspected driver of the Corvette."

This, however, has yet to be confirmed, and the investigation of the incident remains ongoing. It also must be emphasized that, at the time of this writing, the police have not charged Rice with anything.

If you are not familiar with Rice, he is a wide receiver for the NFL's Kansas City Chiefs. Fox News reports:

Kansas City selected Rice in the third round of the 2023 draft, and he quickly became a top target for the Patrick Mahomes-led offense his rookie season. He had 79 catches for 938 yards and seven touchdowns and helped the Chiefs win their second consecutive Super Bowl title in February. In the 25-22 Super Bowl victory over the San Francisco 49ers, Rice had six catches for 39 yards.

The Chiefs have yet to comment on the situation.
