President Joe Biden, his administration, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have incessantly claimed that COVID-19 pandemic guidance is based on “the data.”
According to The Daily Wire, in a bombshell report published by The New York Times, it appears that the American public — and the rest of the world — was only privy to a “tiny fraction” of the actual data that the CDC had gathered over the past two years.
The data that has apparently been purposely withheld from the public was, more importantly, withheld from state and local public health agencies that relied on such data to make life-changing decisions throughout the course of the pandemic.
CDC spokeswoman Kristen Nordlund offered a number of unbelievably pathetic excuses as to why a vast majority of COVID data has been withheld, claiming that it wasn’t yet “ready for prime time,” and added that the agency worried that it could be “misinterpreted.”
Booster shot data
As the Daily Mail reported Monday, the Times‘ shocking report focused on booster shot effectiveness data specifically for Americans between the ages of 18-49, which happens to represent roughly 33 million Americans.
The agency’s reason for not publishing the data was even more egregious, claiming that it was afraid that publishing the data would increase vaccine hesitancy, as apparently a booster shot for the aforementioned age group is largely ineffective.
“The 18-49 year old age group is considered least likely to benefit from the booster, given that death rates among the age group are already low. It is far more likely for the elderly and immunocompromised to get sick without their booster than healthy young and middle aged people,” the Daily Mail noted.
Scientists from across the nation were outraged at the revelation that so much data was kept secret from the American public, including Dr Paul Offit, a vaccine expert and adviser to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
“Tell the truth, present the data,” Dr. Offit said.”I have to believe that there is a way to explain these things so people can understand it.”
Other ramifications
A number of other scientists and experts, including Jessica Malaty Rivera, an epidemiologist and part of the team that ran the Covid Tracking Project, indicated that they had “begged” for those data sets throughout the duration of the pandemic, obviously in order to help combat the virus.
“We have been begging for that sort of granularity of data for two years,” Rivera said. “It gets really exhausting when you see the private sector working faster than the premier public health agency of the world.”
There’s clearly no telling just how much the American public has been kept in the dark, based on what appears to be fear from the U.S. government that we might actually be able to make sound decisions for our own health. This should absolutely outrage and terrify every single American.
