Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) was forced to settle a lawsuit with an Illinois man who accused her and her campaign of violating federal robocalling laws.
Business Insider reported, "In October 2022, a Bolingbrook, Illinois resident named Jorge Rojas filed a 13-page lawsuit in the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois that accused the former speaker of the House and her campaign of violating the Telephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991."
Rojas claimed he had received dozens of texts from the Pelosi campaign despite placing himself on a Do Not Call Registry in 2008.
Rojas argued that the spam from the Pelosi campaign constituted “malicious, intentional, willful, reckless, wanton and negligent disregard” for his rights.
The Pelosi campaign must have realized they were in trouble as they sought a settlement with Rojas for $7,500. Paying out thousands behind closed doors was a more desirable outcome than being humiliated in court.
Rojas then applied to dismiss the lawsuit and campaign finance disclosures confirmed the settlement payment was made.
This defeat has been the latest humiliation Pelosi has suffered in the past few months. Pelosi was never the most popular Democrat in Congress but times have certainly been better.
The 83-year-old Pelosi is seemingly on her way toward retirement after Democrats finally managed to force her out as leader.
Pelosi has been an anchor on the Democrat Party for years and her damaging gaffes and other mistakes beg the question as to why Democrats didn't get rid of her sooner.
All of this hasn't stopped Pelosi from riling up Americans with authoritarian tweets all while she enjoys her elitist lifestyle.
Pelosi recently ignited outrage after reacting to the indictment of former President Donald Trump by saying, "No one is above the law, and everyone has the right to a trial to prove innocence."
Her insane statement on the presumption of innocence in the U.S. justice system prompted many conservatives to call out her "Stalinist" views.
Of course, Nancy Pelosi already believes Trump is guilty and is happy to erode our justice system and Americans' trust in it.
Nancy Pelosi is a national disgrace, and it is a shame that she has only been held accountable for a handful of her anti-American actions.
