Rep. Jerry Nadler vows Kavanaugh investigation if Democrats reclaim House

Judge Brett Kavanaugh may have survived the smears launched against him by Senate Democrats and the liberal media and been sworn in as the newest associate justice of the Supreme Court over the weekend, but that doesn’t mean the left is done trying to destroy him just yet.

Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) said in a recent interview with The New York Times that, should Democrats take back control of the House in the midterms, a full investigation into Kavanaugh will be launched by House committees.

Nadler is a top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee who stands to become the chairman of that committee if his party succeeds in reclaiming a majority in the House.

Investigation promised

Of an investigation into Kavanaugh, Nadler told The Times: “It is not something we are eager to do.”

“But the Senate having failed to do its proper constitutionally mandated job of advise and consent, we are going to have to do something to provide a check and balance, to protect the rule of law and to protect the legitimacy of one of our most important institutions,” he continued.

Nadler suggested that his committee would likely investigate not only the allegations of sexual misconduct lodged against Kavanaugh, but also assertions that the justice committed perjury during his under-oath testimonies before the Senate Judiciary Committee.

“We have to assure the American people either that it was a fair process and that the new justice did not commit perjury, did not do these terrible things, or reveal that we just don’t know because the investigation was a whitewash,” added Nadler.

Pelosi’s rhetoric

If you thought Nadler’s not-so-subtle threat of a Kavanaugh investigation was bad enough, you may have missed House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s amped up rhetoric about the new justice, which coincided with a Freedom of Information Act request that seeks to reveal to the American public all of the details of the final FBI report on Kavanaugh.

In an official statement, Pelosi lamented that Kavanaugh’s confirmation was “profoundly heart-breaking” for women across the country and said, “The conduct of the Senate Republican Majority did violence to the reputation of both the Senate Judiciary Committee and the Supreme Court. We must proceed in a judicious manner to set the record straight and ensure that this never happens again.”

It has been made exceedingly obvious that top Democrats like Nadler and Pelosi are not yet finished with their attempted political destruction of Justice Kavanaugh.

Bear in mind that it has also been made abundantly clear that Democrat control of Congress would result in President Donald Trump’s agenda being ground to a halt, as the resulting Democrat-led committees would open up all sorts of time-consuming investigations into Trump’s administration while attempting to reverse Trump’s tax cuts and reinstate policies and regulations that have been rolled back over the past two years.

The Democrats have come right out and said that they intend to seek vengeance against Trump and their ideological opponents if they resume control of Congress, meaning it is imperative for conservatives to get out and vote in the midterms to ensure the Democrats never regain power again.
