MSNBC: ‘We are at war’

While some on the political left are condemning President Joe Biden’s anti-MAGA speech, the leftist network MSNBC is taking the opposite approach.

Fox News reports that MSNBC appears to be using Biden’s speech as a basis to ratchet up its anti-Trump and anti-Republican rhetoric.

“We are at war”

MSNBC recently aired an interview with liberal internet news host Roland Martin.

In this interview, Martin took things a step further than Biden did in his speech on Thursday. Martin actually called all Republicans “evil.”

Martin said:

We are at war with these people. These folks are evil. They have allowed evil into their house with Donald Trump. This evil is spreading, and when you are in a war footing, you have to respond accordingly. It is about time Joe Biden got tough. Stop being weak, stop being impotent, quit not fighting back. What these people want to do to this country is destroy democracy.

Martin did not go into specifics about what he meant by Biden needing to “respond accordingly.” But, it’s pretty clear what he is doing here, namely, incitement, incitement of anger, and more, against Republicans.

It wasn’t only Martin who made such remarks either. MSNBC host Tiffany Cross, for example, said:

Obviously, Republicans are, I think, the biggest threat to democracy. We don’t separate right-wing extremists and Republican Party anymore.

It is not that surprising to hear such rhetoric coming from a left-wing extremist network like MSNBC. The surprising bit here is that MSNBC actually got its inspiration for this rhetoric from the sitting president of the United States of America.

Biden, during his speech on Thursday, said:

Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our Republic. MAGA Republicans do not respect the Constitution. They do not believe in the rule of the law. They do not recognize the will of the people. They refuse to accept the results of a free election.

Biden briefly backed off this position after receiving much criticism about his divisive speech.

On Sunday, however, he doubled down.

Biden tweeted:

The MAGA agenda represents an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our Republic. It doesn’t respect our Constitution. It doesn’t believe in the rule of law. And it doesn’t recognize the will of the people.
