NBC4 reports that Wild 'N Out star Ms. Jacky Oh!, whose real name is Jacklyn Smith, has died at the age of 32.
The news of Smith's passing was announced by the MTV Wild 'N Out Instagram account on June 1.
"We are deeply saddened by the passing of Jacklyn Smith, known to the world as Jacky Oh, a talented Wild N’ Out family member whose impact will be forever treasured and missed," the announcement reads.
It continues:
Jacky Oh was a loving friend and beloved colleague of the Wild N’ Out cast throughout five seasons. More importantly, she was a tremendous mother to three beautiful children. The BET Media Group extends our sincere condolences to the Smith family, DC Young Fly, B Simone, Nick Cannon, and all friends who loved and cared for Jacky Oh during this difficult time.
The L.A. Times provides some details about Smith's passing.
According to the outlet, Smith "was staying at the Homewood Suites by Hilton Miami Downtown/Brickell where she was found unresponsive on the evening of May 31, according to a Miami Police Department incident report."
The outlet adds that "Police were dispatched and she was transported to Mercy Hospital where, despite resuscitation efforts, she was pronounced dead shortly before midnight. The case is still under investigation."
TMZ reports:
Sources tell us she died Wednesday in Miami. We don't have details yet about the cause of her death, but a since-deleted social media post claimed she was in Miami to undergo a "mommy makeover."
What is a "mommy makeover"? Here's information from Standford Medicine:
Each Mommy Makeover is tailored to the patient's preferences. A mommy makeover can include any combination of the following: Tummy Tuck, Breast Augmentation, Breast Lift, Liposuction, and Vaginal Rejuvenation Surgery. Traditionally, the standard Mommy Makeover entails a Tummy tuck and breast augmentation.
The Cosmetic Lane Twitter account has confirmed, "from someone close to the family," that "MsJackyOh had gone for a Mommy Makeover with Dr. Zach in Miami."
The message adds that "it’s being speculated that she passed away from heart failure but her official cause of death hasn’t been confirmed."
Smith had made appearances on VH1's Wild 'n Out for three seasons. The show, according to Insider, is a television series hosted by Nick Cannon in which rap improvisation battles take place.
Smith leaves behind her longtime partner, D.C. Young Fly.
She also leaves behind their three children: daughters Nova, 6, and Nala, 2, and a 10-month-old son, Prince.
