A South Dakota man missing for weeks was finally located.
James Gibbs was found dead in a local wooded area.
Gibbs was first reported missing in late June.
At the time, his last known location was Centerville, South Dakota.
He had been spotted at a local park, then went missing.
At the time of his disappearance, police also noted he had “extreme behavior issues.”
Those issues were believed to have stemmed from a medical issue.
He was believed to be on foot.
Police also noted he reportedly did not have access to a phone or car.
Authorities had been baffled by Gibbs’ disappearance.
Almost a full month had passed since his disappearance was made public, but the police still had no leads.
Then, someone found his body in an area just west of where he had been reported missing.
By all accounts, it would appear Gibbs just wandered off and lost his way.
Police stated there were no apparent signs of foul play in Gibbs’ death.
While an autopsy has not yet been performed, they believe he died of natural causes.
