Report: More than 6 million have been able to pull away from food stamp program during Trump’s presidency

One of the greatest achievements of President Donald Trump’s administration is creating a lot of buzz on both sides of the aisle.

A new Breitbart report claims that 6,074,074 people have been able to get off the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, also known as SNAP, since Trump’s inauguration in 2017.

The left’s outrage

When Trump made this claim during his State of the Union speech, it was one of those moments that had Nancy Pelosi talking to herself.

It also created a furor on social media, with many liberals claiming that those 6.1 million individuals were kicked off the program instead of dropping off voluntarily.

According to liberals, all Trump did was take food off the table of millions of households around the country. But as usual, they are wrong.

Why numbers are down

In one sense, Democrats did get it right, because some people were kicked off the program. The only problem for Dems is that those who were kicked off deserved to be removed because they were either unfairly taking advantage of the program or committing fraud.

The administration also put in stipulations requiring those able to work to do so to remain eligible for SNAP benefits. If those in the program did not want to get off their couch, they were not going to receive the freebies.

Dems would have us believe the administration was kicking off people who are handicapped or elderly, but that was not the case at all.

This particular requirement said that participants between 18 and 49 years old with no children or other dependents who received food stamps for more than three months over any three-year period must either work, receive job training, go to school, or volunteer.

These were the very people who Dems are outraged over.

But many of those dropped from the program are now working full time and can fend for themselves, so they no longer need the program.

That particular fact really infuriates Democrats, because if they accept it, they’d have to admit that Americans are getting back to work and doing better under Trump.
