Fox News reports that Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) has voluntarily bused more migrants to Vice President Kamala Harris’s D.C. residence on Christmas Eve.
According to the New York Post, “about 110 to 130 men, women, and children were let off near the Naval Observatory in temperatures that hovered around 15 degrees on Saturday night, Christmas Eve.”
The migrants, according to the outlet, were mostly from Central and South America.
The Post adds, “the group — many among them wearing T-shirts or light sweatshirts — was met by local volunteers who gave them blankets and took them to a local church where they were fed and received shelter.”
Abbott and other Republican-led states have been voluntarily busing illegal immigrants to Democratic areas of the country since April. Harris’s D.C. residence has been a common stop, particularly given that Harris is supposed to be the Biden administration’s “border czar.”
These Republican-led states started doing this in order to try to raise awareness about the devastating effects of the Democrats’ open-border policies.
Just last week, Abbott sent President Joe Biden a letter in which he criticized the Biden administration for creating the southern border crisis and for failing to fix it.
This terrible crisis for border communities in Texas is a catastrophe of your own making. These communities and the state are ill-equipped to do the job assigned to the federal government – house the thousands of migrants flooding into the country every day. With perilous temperatures moving into the area, many of these migrants are at risk of freezing to death on city streets.
Abbott concluded the letter by calling upon Biden to take action:
You and your administration must stop the lie that the border is secure and, instead, immediately deploy federal assets to address the dire problems you have caused. You must execute the duties that the U.S. Constitution mandates you perform and secure the southern border before more innocent lives are lost.
Biden’s narrative, and why it’s false
Biden, Harris, and the White House insist that the southern border is secure.
Just on Saturday, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) put out a statement in which it claimed that the department “continues to fully enforce our immigration and public health laws at the border.”
Immigration numbers, however, tell a different story.
During the 2022 Fiscal Year, U.S. Border Patrol had in excess of 2.3 million illegal alien encounters, and this astronomical rate of illegal immigration appears to be continuing into the 2023 Fiscal Year.
The month of November, alone, saw over 233,000 illegal immigrant encounters.
