Michelle Obama spent $18K on ‘bedazzled’ book tour outfit: Report
Democrats love to spend money — so it’s hardly a surprise to see Michelle Obama enjoying the wealth provided by her husband’s stint in the White House.
During an early stop on the European leg of her Becoming book tour, Michelle showed up in a sparkling outfit that reportedly costs about $18,000.
Take a look:
The Bedazzled Look
The “bedazzled” outfit donned by Michelle Obama turned heads for several reasons.
First and foremost, the crystal bursts on the outfit seemed a bit much.
According to fashion reporters, the blazer retails for $1,350 and the pants retail for $960. (Spending more than $2,300 for a pantsuit definitely seems like a fiscally responsible way to spend your newfound wealth.)
That was not the biggest splurge of the day, though.
Michelle was also wearing a pair of hoop earrings that cost a reported $16,250.
The earrings are reportedly from Vhernier’s “Pop” collection.
If you have $16K, you, too, can purchase the earrings at one of the company’s boutique shops across the country.
Barack is Busy, Too
While Michelle is out selling books, Barack Obama has been busy begging for money for the Obama Foundation.
The former president came under considerable scrutiny for comments he made at an Obama Foundation event earlier this week about Europe being, by and large, better than America. (It was shamefully reminiscent of his infamous apology tour.)
Indeed, while both of the Obamas are enjoying the riches of their stint in the White House, they both continue to make this country sound as though it is the most horrific one on the planet.
If there was ever a case to be made to stop the pension checks sent to former presidents, or at least have their yearly income count against it, the Obamas are making it right now.
