Michelle Obama on her marriage: ‘There are times you want to leave’

In a recent interview with People magazine, Michelle Obama dropped a bomb about her marriage with former president Barack Obama.

“Because we’re role models, it’s important for us to be honest and say, if you’re in a marriage and there are times you want to leave, that’s normal – because I felt that way,” stated the former first lady.

Tough Times

The interview shed some light on a marriage that has been portrayed throughout the years as perfect.

Michelle’s admissions absolutely shatter that narrative.

In fact, she even revealed that they had been through marriage counseling at one point.

Asked if she had ever considered leaving Barack, she stated, “There were definitely times when I wished things were different.”

“But I don’t think I ever thought, ‘I’m just checking out of this,'” she clarified.

The Obamas

Michelle and Barack Obama met while they were both working for a Chicago law firm.

Michelle was actually assigned to Barack as his mentor.

After he constantly badgered her for a date, she finally gave in and the rest, as they say, is history.

Becoming

The revealing interview was done to promote Michelle Obama’s new memoir, “Becoming,” which was released on Tuesday.

The book dives deep into several aspects of her personal life.

She covers various times of her childhood through her years as an executive and of course, her time in the White House.

Obviously, her marriage will play a large part in that story, hence why she was diving so deep into this topic during her interview.

While nobody expects anyone’s marriage to be perfect, she absolutely stunned everyone by revealing the intimate details of her marital problems.

Once again, it shows the Democrat machine’s hypocrisy as the “perfect couple” appears not to be so perfect after all.
