Media silent as Ilhan Omar continues to face possible campaign finance charges

While the media has been all over the House Committees going after Trump and Attorney General William Barr, they have been ignoring a major story.

As of early April, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) has been under investigation for campaign finance violations.

Breaking the Law

Omar is under investigation by the Minnesota Campaign Finance Board.

According to reports, Omar used campaign funds for personal affairs.

The original complaint against her was filed by Minnesota State Rep. Steve Drazkowski.

His complaint alleges Omar used roughly $6,000 of campaign funds to pay an attorney, as well as personal travel.

“I had observed a long pattern,” Rep. Drazkowski said. “Rep. Omar hasn’t followed the law.”

He went on: “She’s repeatedly trampled on the laws of the state in a variety of areas, and gotten away with it.”

Ignoring the Story

By and large, this story has been completely ignored by the mainstream media.

The media is so enthralled in threats to impeach Trump and hold Barr in contempt of Congress that they can’t be bothered to report on a story about real corruption in the Democratic Party.

Omar, for her part, has seemingly been surrounded by controversy from the moment she was sworn into office.

She is not only wrapped up in this scandal, but has also faced criticism for making numerous anti-Semitic remarks. Things have gotten so bad for Omar that members of the local and national Muslim communities are publicly coming out against her.

Meanwhile, the results of the investigation into her campaign finances are expected to be announced soon.

If Omar is found to be guilty, it would likely signal the end of her congressional career.
