White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany added another clip to her highlight reel of media takedowns on Tuesday as she ripped reporters for biased coverage of major stories that negatively implicated prominent Democrats.
McEnany specifically called out the media for essentially refusing to report on the scandalous revelation that Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) had been compromised by a suspected Chinese spy, as well as allegations of wrongdoing against Hunter Biden, The Post Millennial reported.
Biased media called out
McEnany’s shredding of the corrupt media came during a press briefing on Tuesday that was intended to provide an update on the distribution of the coronavirus vaccine.
The reporters were placed on the defensive almost immediately as McEnany chided the media for its many dismissive “fact-checks” earlier in the year disputing Trump’s assertion that a vaccine would be developed and approved before the year was complete.
That was merely a preview of what the reporters had in store for them during the question and answer portion at the end of the briefing.
Media won’t cover scandals
In response to a question about Iran and Middle East peace deals, McEnany lamented the dearth of positive media coverage regarding Trump’s successes. “I guess we shouldn’t be surprised, because in the last 24 or 48 hours, there have been quite a few stories that have not gotten a ton of coverage in the mainstream media,” she said.
McEnany then spoke about Swalwell’s recently revealed relationship with a Chinese spy, including a riff of numerous quotes from the congressman asserting that Trump was in league with Russia. “And these baseless attacks were false yet covered breathlessly by the media,” she said. “There was no coverage, however, of Swalwell being the one implicated with not Russia, but China.”
She then raised the great disparity in media coverage pre- and post-election regarding allegations of wrongdoing with Hunter Biden’s dubious overseas business dealings that had been summarily dismissed as “Russian disinformation” but have now been confirmed as accurate.
“Really interesting turn of events and good for those who covered what was a story all along and not Russia disinformation,” McEnany said as she concluded the briefing and walked away from the podium.
Acosta chimes in
The Daily Caller reported that CNN White House correspondent Jim Acosta could be overheard at the end insulting McEnany as she walked away as he declared, “Isn’t it hypocritical of you to accuse others of disinformation when you spread it every day?”
Acosta may want to board up the glass house he lives in before he accuses anyone of hypocrisy or of spreading disinformation.
