Suspect identified but motive for violence under investigation

A least four people, possibly six or more, have been killed in a mass shooting at a bar in Montana, according to multiple reports.

The suspect was identified as Michael Brown, 45, of Anaconda, Montana, and he remains at large after what apparently was a high-speed chase in which he fled in a stolen pickup truck.

NBC reported the "multiple fatalities" and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, confirmed the shooting happened at a business, identified as the Owl Bar.

Local media reported the gunman used a "7.62 assault style rifle," and there were 4 to 6 confirmed victims.

The Gateway Pundit said, "The sheriff's office for neighboring Granite County said a suspect was at large. The sheriff's office said on social media that the suspect was wearing a tie-dye shirt, blue jeans and an orange bandana."

The suspect's home already had been searched by a SWAT team, the report said.
