One of the world’s most famous couples just got some good news.
The recently married royal couple, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, are reportedly expecting their first child.
A Royal Baby
Early Monday, those that follow the Royals got a little something to fuel their interest.
A formal announcement was made from Kensington Palace that had everyone saying, “Awwweee.”
“Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019,” the announcement read.
Markle and Prince Harry were married in May of this year.
The couple had a rather short engagement; he had only proposed six months ahead of their nuptials.
After taking a honeymoon in Canada, the couple toured the world during the summer months.
But the couple’s union did not come about without significant scrutiny from the press and public.
Markle had previously been married to Trevor Engelson, something that did not sit well with many.
Since the wedding, the British media has attacked her for everything from her wardrobe to how she stands and acts during official ceremonies.
The Line to the Throne
While the new baby will obviously be a Royal, he or she will have a long wait to get to the throne.
The child will take his or her place behind Harry, who is currently sixth in line to become King.
Once Queen Elizabeth passes, the throne will go to Prince Charles.
After Charles, Prince William is in line, followed by his three children.
