A recent undercover video published by Project Veritas, an investigative journalism organization, allegedly shows a Democratic staffer revealing her boss’ true agenda on gun control in a highly contested Senate seat race in the “purple” state of Arizona.
With the election only a few weeks away, the information uncovered in this video could prove devastating to Democratic senatorial candidate Mark Kelly.
Who is Mark Kelly?
The Democratic Arizona Senate nominee has an impressive career as a retired Naval officer and former NASA astronaut.
Although Kelly is just now officially entering the political ring as the Democratic nominee for an Arizona Senate against Sen. Martha McSally (R-AZ), he has had political ties for many years.
Kelly’s wife, former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, is an ardent supporter of gun control and a survivor of an assassination attempt while she was in Congress. Kelly certainly shares his wife’s anti-gun agenda, based on the findings of Project Veritas and the work Kelly did before pursuing public office.
Both Giffords and Kelly have advocated for red flag laws and universal background checks, and together founded the gun-control organization Americans for Responsible Solutions in 2013, Fox News reported.
“Achieving reforms to reduce gun violence and prevent mass shootings will mean matching gun lobbyists in their reach and resources,” the couple wrote in a column for USA Today at the time.
As a Democrat, it’s not surprising Kelly plans to push gun control legislation if he were to take office, but nobody seems to know just how far he will go.
But according to a new investigative report from Project Veritas, Kelly is intentionally deceiving voters about his gun control plans. In the video, Angelico Carpio, a field organizer for Mission for Arizona, tells the undercover reporter that she thinks Kelly wants to get elected before revealing his full anti-gun agenda.
“He wants to get those independents. He wants to get those Republicans who don’t trust Trump anymore — and one of their main issues is guns,” Carpio said. “So I don’t think he’s fully like been out there saying like I want like a full gun control type measure and I think it’s because he just wants to get elected first and then he wants to go further.” Watch the video below:

Tell voters one thing, do the exact opposite when you get elected.

According to polling from FiveThirtyEight, Kelly is leading McSally by a significant margin, all but ensuring that Democrats flip a key seat — but do voters know what they are getting with Kelly?
