McCabe, Brennan signal willingness to cooperate with Durham probe: Report

Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe and former CIA Director John Brennan seem to be signaling their willingness to cooperate in the escalating criminal investigation into the origins of the Russia collusion probe — perhaps to avoid an indictment, according to recent reports from sites like the Washington Examiner.

Their cooperation would seriously undermine any Democrat narrative about the investigation’s illegitimacy and signal that there really is something that has been hidden. This can’t be sitting well with many in the D.C. establishment.

Playing the long game

McCabe and Brennan have long been antagonists of the Trump administration and were prominent figures during Robert Mueller’s investigation into alleged collusion between the 2016 Trump campaign team and Russia.

But for them to suddenly come out and acknowledge the legitimacy of the Durham investigation suggests they are running scared.

The investigation into the origins of the Russia probe, headed by U.S. Attorney John Durham, is examining the activities that ultimately led to spying on the Trump campaign in 2016, according to The Hill. For their part, Brennan and McCabe, having been prominent fixtures in the intelligence community, would likely possess a great deal of information relevant to that investigation — especially if, in the end, it’s found that they acted unlawfully themselves.

It is highly probable that both know the investigation will uncover serious crimes, and they want to secure immunity right now if at all possible.

Suspicious timing

It’s interesting that this is happening now, just as the impeachment inquiry continues down its ultimately futile path in the House. As soon as this impeachment drama loses steam, the focus will again shift to the Durham investigation.

Brennan and McCabe want to be on the right side of things before Durham’s scrutiny intensifies and indictments start to issue.

McCabe has already said he expects to be contacted soon by investigators, further showing he is playing the long game and wants immunity from the fallout of the investigation.

Anyone who pays attention to the timing of these events can understand why. It has already been all but determined that the FBI lied to the FISA court in obtaining warrants to run surveillance on the Trump campaign.

That is just the first step in determining everything that happened and who was responsible, but that is already very damning evidence indeed. And if the FBI was willing to lie to the FISA court, what was their motive? They clearly did what they did for a reason.

Indeed, Deep State actors tried to take Trump down — and now, Durham is going to expose them for it. All we have to do is sit back and watch.
