New evidence has emerged that suggests Dr. Anthony Fauci misled Congress regarding U.S. funding of gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China.
Damning documents discredit Fauci
Recently released documents indicate that the National Institutes of Health (NIH) provided grants that ultimately funded the controversial research widely suspected of resulting in the release of COVID-19. Fauci has repeatedly denied any such connection, leading lawmakers like Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) to publicly call for him to face consequences for providing dishonest testimony under oath.
For Fauci’s GOP critics, the revelation merely bolsters long-held suspicions that the chief White House medical adviser is a liar.
Previous emails appeared to show that he attempted to hide the truth related to the origins of COVID-19, leading many Americans to become even more skeptical of recommendations and conclusions expressed by the scientific community.
Of course, left-leaning outlets like CNN and MSNBC have attached their own credibility to the noted immunologist, choosing to take him at his word instead of demanding answers regarding a string of troubling allegations.
Fauci sat down for interviews with hosts from both networks on Tuesday — and neither asked a question related to the latest evidence to emerge about the pandemic’s origins, according to Fox.
Media, Democrats circle the wagons
Softball interviews like these have led many conservatives to determine that the mainstream media is serving not as a source of information but as the propaganda wing of the Democratic Party.
It remains to be seen whether Republicans will be successful in pursuing an investigation of Fauci’s apparent dishonesty.
Considering the Democratic Party’s advantage in the legislative and executive branches, it seems likely that the party — with assistance from the media — will continue protecting him by any means necessary.
White House press secretary Jen Psaki went so far as to deny the new evidence revealed any dishonesty on Fauci’s part.
Under continued Democratic rule, it could become increasingly difficult to determine the truth on this or any number of other important issues. For this reason, Republicans are not only seeking accountability for Fauci but party leaders are also focused on next year’s midterm elections as a way to restore the rule of law.
