‘Doomsday Mom’: Lori Vallow indicted on murder charges related to alleged crime spree

An Arizona woman has been indicted for the death of her fourth husband and on charges related to the deaths of her two children.

Lori Vallow, dubbed the “Doomsday Mom,” faces one count of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder stemming from a 2019 allegation that she and her brother orchestrated her husband’s death, NBC News reports.

Vallow has also been connected to multiple other deaths and indictments in the case have been expected for some time.

“Tremendous number of hours”

Maricopa County Attorney Allister Adel commented on the development, explaining: “Complex, difficult cases of this nature take time to properly investigate and solve. I appreciate the tremendous number of hours the dedicated officers of the Chandler Police Department have invested, and my office is equally committed to bringing those responsible for Charles Vallow’s death to justice.”

Earlier this year, Vallow was indicted along with her latest husband, Chad Daybell, for the murder of her two children.

Vallow and Daybell allegedly killed 7-year-old Joshua Vallow and 16-year-old Tylee Ryan, both of whom were last seen in 2019. Their remains were discovered on Daybell’s property prior to the indictments, reports noted.

Daybell is also charged with the murder of his prior wife, who died in 2019. He and Vallow were married just weeks later.

“Unprecedented cooperation”

Speculation has since surfaced that Vallow might have played a part in Tammy Daybell’s death. She is facing conspiracy charges related to that case.

Compounding the intrigue are the unusual views the two have expressed regarding apocalyptic events and which might have influenced their actions leading up to the current charges against them.

After her husband’s death, she and her children moved to Idaho. The extent of the crimes for which Vallow is charged has been the subject of widespread media fascination.

“Freemont Prosecutor Lindsey Blake and I believe all three homicides and the related financial crimes were committed as part of a continuing criminal scheme,” Madison County Prosecutor Rob Wood declared, according to the Washington Examiner.

He went on to recognize all those involved in securing the criminal charges, asserting that the “unprecedented cooperation among law enforcement has been a model of cooperation, diligence, and commitment” and that everyone “who has worked on this case is to be commended for their diligence and steadfast pursuit of justice for Tammy, Tylee, and JJ.”
