NBA star Enes Kanter shames Omar for not supporting Turkey sanctions

When you hear political rhetoric from professional athletes, it is usually aimed at Republicans.

But that is not the case for NBA star Enes Kanter, who has accused Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) of cozying up to our enemies, according to the Daily Wire.

Harsh Words

The Boston Celtics’ center, who is Turkish and an open critic of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, was angered when Rep. Omar voted against a bill to place sanctions on Turkey.

The sanctions, as you may recall, were put into place to dissuade Turkey from taking military action against the Kurds in Syria.

Omar was the only Democrat that refused to sign off on the sanctions, which resulted in a very critical tweet from Kanter:

For some reason, Omar took exception to the sanctions against Turkey while supporting sanctions against Israel, further enforcing the narrative that Omar espouses anti-Semitic views.

But There’s More…

The damaging report, however, gets much worse for Omar. It has also been revealed by National Review that Ilhan Omar’s campaign recently received a donation from an activist who is reportedly a cousin of the Turkish president.

Halil Mutlu, who is the current co-chairman of the Turkish American Steering Committee lobbying group, recently forked over $1,500 to Omar’s campaign and even got a meeting with Omar, according to the Daily Caller. His organization is known for its support of Erdogan as well as fighting the narrative that “the Ottoman Empire committed genocide against Armenians more than a century ago.”

This past week, a resolution was introduced to Congress to recognize the Armenian genocide that was committed by Turkey, but again, Omar was one of the few members of Congress who refused to affirm the resolution.

Omar was shredded on social media for her decision by both the right and the very far left, yet she continues to stand her ground and insists she represents the interests of Americans.

Clearly, Omar has gone rogue, working from the inside out to change the ideology of this country.

The people of Minnesota need to wake up.
