As the Russian invasion of Ukraine drags on into nearly the two-month mark, prices at the pump continue to suffer. But the rise in gas and energy costs began to rise long before Russia launched its invasion, and President Joe Biden knows it.
According to Fox News, popular and outspoken Fox News contributor Leo Terrell argued that Biden destroyed America’s energy independence early on in his presidency in order to appease the radical “Green New Deal extremists” of the Democratic Party.
Terrell’s point was that for unknown reasons, so-called “moderate” Democrats like Biden was supposed to be, instead “sold their souls to the elites” with the ultra-radical green energy push, and the continued push to erase America’s fossil fuel industry.
He made his opinion on the matter crystal clear during an interview with Dan Bongino on Saturday night.
“Self-inflicted”
Terrell explained that the Democrats, who are expected to take an absolute beating in the November midterms, brought most of their political woes on themselves.
“Let’s be very clear that Democrats are lying every day, every day. This inflation, Dan, is self-inflicted. It’s self-inflicted because Joe Biden, in his obsession to become president of the United States, sold out the American public to satisfy these Green New Deal extremists,” he said.
Terrell added: “Dan, we are energy independent if we want to be. We were in that situation a couple of years ago, but this inflation… you’re absolutely right, you can’t hide from it. It affects everyone.”
“You could try to hide what your account [is] with a tax hike, but not inflation. Look who is hurting. It’s hurting retirees. And their 401K plan. It’s forcing people to go back to work. People who have decided to retire, but they can’t because their money has lost value because of Joe Biden’s commitment to the extreme left.”
He went on to say that Dems know what they’re doing, and are simply “hell-bent” on destroying everything former President Donald Trump did for America.
Awful decisions
Terrell went on to point out that Americans are increasingly facing tough choices as far as which bills to pay and which ones to let go under Biden’s crippling inflation.
“The middle class [is] keen to afford to go to work because you… look, I live in California. Those gas prices [are] astronomical. People have to make a decision. Do I put food on the table? Do I pay the utility bill?” he said.
Terrell added: “The middle class are people who resonate to freedom and liberty – what you talk about every day. And yet the Democrats, they have sold their souls to the elites, to those who believe that they are different, unique, special, and they have lost the middle class.”
