King Charles stricken with cancer, commences immediate treatment

King Charles III, who became monarch of the United Kingdom in September 2022 following the death of his mother Queen Elizabeth II, has been diagnosed with cancer and is suspending his duties while he receives immediate treatment.

Buckingham Palace announced: "During The King's recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer."
